Yeah,, both are tragic characters. Jyscal, under pressure of the society, abandoned his son. Although it is indeed a fact Yscal did revoke Seymour's exile when the internal strife subsided. Both have a pretty complex story, and curiously, Seymour shows similarities to his father. After all, it was confimed he cared for Yuna, and loved her, but was willing to have her die, in order to "save" Spira, showing definite similarities to his father's behaviour towards him and his mother. Then again, for Seymour, death IS salvation...
